Does the TM-2 have different models?

In addition to customizing features and specs, Haas Automation builds other machines around the same toolroom design:

  • Haas TM-2P is the production version of the same machine, with a faster 6,000 RPM spindle in place of the standard TM-2’s 4,000 RPM.
  • Haas TM-1 is the smaller machine in the same family, and TM-3 the larger one.
  • Haas VF-2 is the production vertical machining center at a similar table size. It is a heavier, faster machine, and it is not priced like a toolroom mill.

When considering a used Haas TM-2, two things are worth confirming before anything else. The great majority of the machines we handle are TM-2Ps rather than plain TM-2s, so check which one you are looking at, because the spindle speed differs. And the tool changer is genuinely variable: most of the machines we have handled carry the ten-station changer, a smaller number the twenty-station, and a few came with none at all — which changes what the machine can run unattended more than any other option on it.
