Does the ST-25 have different models?

In addition to customizing features and specs, Haas Automation offers ST-25 models built with some of the upgraded features referenced above:

  • Haas ST-25Y adds the Y axis and live tooling, so the machine mills and drills off centerline instead of only turning.
  • Haas ST-25L and ST-25LY are the long-bed machines, for work that will not fit between centers on a standard bed.
  • Haas ST-20 and ST-30 sit either side of the 25 in the range.

When considering a used Haas ST-25, the base machine barely varies. Every one we have handled carried the same 10″ chuck, the same 3″ bar capacity and the same 3,400 RPM spindle, so what actually separates two of them is what was added: a 24-station turret, live tooling, a Y axis. About a third of the machines we see carry live tooling, and a tailstock is on roughly half of them, so it is worth confirming rather than assuming.
