Used Haas UMC-500

The Haas UMC-500 is the compact machine in Haas Automation’s 5-axis universal machining center range. It carries a 24″ x 16″ x 16″ work envelope over an integrated two-axis trunnion table, so smaller parts can be machined on five sides in one setup without giving up floor space. A wide range of features and options is available to configure each machine to a shop’s work.

Does the UMC-500 have different models?

In addition to customizing features and specs, Haas Automation offers UMC models built with some of the upgraded features referenced above:

  • Haas UMC-500SS is the Super Speed version, with a 15,000 RPM spindle and faster rapids for higher-speed work.
  • Haas UMC-750 is the larger machine in the range, with 30″ x 20″ x 20″ travels and a 19.7″ x 24.8″ platter.
  • Haas UMC-1000 is larger again, for parts that will not fit a 750.

The UMC-500 is a newer machine than the UMC-750, so used examples tend to be later build years and to carry the Next Generation Control. Spindle speed, tool changer size and taper are the specifications that most often separate two otherwise similar machines.
