Keep the maintenance and calibration records together, because on a Swiss lathe or a small hole EDM they carry real weight with the next owner. How do you handle equipment that is a long way from the metro, up near Roseau or the Range?
Distance changes the logistics, not the process. Rigging and transport out of northern Minnesota costs more than out of Eden Prairie, and pretending otherwise helps nobody, so we build that reality into the conversation from the start rather than discovering it after an offer. We are a contract shop with idle capacity, not a plant closure. Does brokerage suit that?
It suits it well. A contract shop that has lost a program usually has one or two machines standing idle while the rest of the floor stays busy, and there is no reason to disrupt the working shop to clear them.
